Fear dwells in the heart of man. Everyone is afraid, afraid of death, sickness, of being jobless, being in need, of a child getting sick, of robbery, of enemies.....All of us are afraid; it doesn't matter if our fear is great or small. We all have fears. And for you who are afraid, the Word of God brings a message:

"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid'. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." (Lk 2: 10-11)

We will never be free of fear if we rely only on our own strength. We need someone to save us; someone who has the power to take away our fear; who has the power to take the addict away from drugs, the alcoholic from drink, the sick from sickness, the power to make the blind see, the dumb talk, the lame walk, the spiritually dead rise again.

This someone is our Saviour, Jesus, which means God Saves,
this someone is Emmanuel which means God is with us......
