Beyond the Destruction

by Rosemarie E. Bishop

Poems

      The cities are gone;
      The factories, reduced to rubble.
      Soon our vehicles won't work,
      but then, they've been nothing but trouble.

      What country started this?
      What does it matter?
      Our lives are much simpler
      Without angry chatter.

      It all came so soon:
      sooner than we expected.
      What kept us alive
      was the faith we protected.

      Only good is left,
      and beauty abounding
      in this brilliant new world
      that we are just founding.

      But what led us here
      To this moment in time
      was His love eternal;
      His love sublime.
